How Does Your Experience Affect Creativity?

We showed earlier how the simple word “machine” conjured up different images for different people because your past experiences greatly affect how you interpret data and information. In the “machine” example, everyone was right. There were no wrong answers, just different ones. Makes sense right? Why is it then that we don’t use this same logic at work and with our friends?

There can be a lot of right answers and creative solutions from many different people. Don’t stifle them because it doesn’t fit your experience. Be quiet and really listen – without judging. Your perfect creative solution may materialize right out of someone else’s background and experience.
